Note: To follow this blog you should have a basic knowledge of Power BI Desktop.
I have used SQL Server Database to get the data. I bound dataset with table visualization. Then my requirement is to add Data Bars for Margin Field to give it a better understanding of Margins. Before moving forward, I would like to inform you that Data Bars can only be applied on Numeric fields.
I have bound dataset with a table and it looks like added screenshot below:
Now I need to add Data Bar on Margin Column. You need to follow below steps to Add Data Bars mentioned below:
Step 1: You need to Expand Visualisation after selecting Table.
Step 2: Select Format on the right panel next to Field tab.
Step 3: Expand Conditional Formatting section.
Step 4: You will see a dropdown of field coming under Conditional Formatting. Select a numeric field for which you want to see Data Bar. In my case, I selected Margin.
Step 5: Toggle the Data Bars option to set it as On
Step 6: You will see Advanced controls button below. Click on it.
Step 7: Another window will appear where you can see multiple options for Data Bars.
You can set these options according to your requirement. Options are self-explanatory.
